Sad to hear the passing of Gord. I work with Gord and we have known each other since 2008 when I first joined the Waste & Recycling Services working out at Spring Gardens. I sat close to Gord and we would look out the round "ship" window to look at the rabbits, grouses crossing by. Though sad to hear the news but it has been a long and difficult battle for Gord that I can't imagine what it's like. I will remember the politeness greetings and the humor of Gord. My condolences to the MacAulay family.

My sympathies and condolences for the Macaulay family, he was always kind and always took a moment to listen and engage/converse any time that the opportunity arose. I had the pleasure of his thoughtfulness, kindness and will miss his smiling face and sense of humor. I am very fortunate to have been a coworker of his and his spirit will be missed.

I am saddened to hear the passing of my good friend Gord. I was able to work with Gord for a few years and will miss the interaction and stories of his years of service with the City of Calgary. Gord was focused on helping others and ensuring their safety, something I will be forever grateful for. I have been out of touch with Gord for a while, but he will be remembered as someone who cared for his fellow workers. Wishing his family all the best.

I am so sad to hear that Gord has left us. I shared the same working area with him for about 10 years (2013-2023). As he used to start working very early, he was the first one I met every morning. Always smiling, greeting me with kind words, and offering help when needed. I will never forget his kind words, his gentle manner, and his always respectful behavior. His sense of humor and honest political and social ideas will definitely be missed. Gord was a man of his principles. I feel so lucky to have known him closely.

Extending my deepest sympathy to Gord’s family and extended family. I worked with Gord for over 10 years here at the City of Calgary. Beside his day-to-day work, he was our secondary Fire Building Warden for our building. He did an amazing volunteer job of taking care of our staff members through various safety exercises/drills and ensuring that our building met our safety codes. He was a kind-hearted man with a great sense of humour and he kept us laughing. He had the most interesting stories which he shared with all. When he became ill, he still came in to visit with the biggest smile on his face. He was the most generous colleague and he had touched many of our hearts. I will always remember you Gord and will continue to have my candy dish full in your honour. Rest in Peace Gord.

I have worked with Gord since 2010 at Waste & Recycling Services, we are in different group, and yet he's one of those that were very welcoming to me. He's known for being always positive, well put together and especially with his colorful bow ties. Gord is one of the nicest and sincerest people I have worked with. When he asked, "How are you doing?" he meant well and was not asking just for the heck of asking. He had the chance to meet my family when they fetch me at Dartmouth office one time, and he was so warm and welcoming to my husband and kids. Gord has always been so friendly and warm, from then on, he will always ask how are they doing? I have been praying for Gord ever since I learned about his health challenge, and even in my recent text message to him, prior his passing, he still asked about my family and wished them well. He will surely be missed by a lot of people. Rest in peace my friend, you will always be in our thoughts and prayers. My sincerest condolences to Gord's family! Praying for strength and comfort at this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Gord's family. I worked with Gord at Waste & Recycling Services and didn't know him well, but his positive outlook and upbeat attitude were such a bright spot in my day when I got to see him. He was a very genuine person and always seemed interested in how others were doing. I got a chance to catch up with him at our potluck event over the holidays, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity. Even in the midst of his struggles with his health, his positivity was relentless. Gord is in my thoughts and will be missed. Rest in Peace Gord.

I will always remember your kindness, your laugh, our conversations, your willingness to help everyone / anyone in need. I will miss your sense of humour the most. Thank you so much for being the person / professional that you were. One of the rare ones that generally put "people" first. Thank you for always reminding me to put my family first, work second and to cherish the things that matter most to me in my life. You will be missed.
